Sunbird Fuel Pump Specs

Well.... I've been digging around on the Delphi site and I found specs for the Sunbird GT turbo fuel pump.

This is more or less applicable for people like Tom and I where we've transplanted a C20GET into a Lemans.... and the Sunbird fuel pump is also part of the swap.

Here is the stock Lemans fuel pump..... which is designed to be used with a Throttle body injection system

It actually shows a higher flow rate..... but the Application pressure is way lower 83kpa versus 350kpa

Ok..... so the Sunbird pump is good for 12g/s = 43.2kg/hr = 95.24 lb/hr

So then we divide by 2 since there are two injectors firing per revolution of the crank

That gives us a maximum flow of 47.6 lb/hr per injector.

So..... that means that the stock Sunbird pump should be capable of supporting roughly 250whp and 47lb/hr injectors with a very small margin of safety.

If however the pressure was increased.... the flow capacity would drop.... so that's something to keep in mind.

good find, that pump should be good for high spec NA applications, or low boost turbos
