Hello everybody, again

Post by CHNDROSE »

Just wanted to say a quick hello to those I recognise from last year and to all the new ones here. :)

I have surfed in from time to time in the last few months, usually while on the road.

My 05 Reno, which I bought with less than 100 miles on it 01/05 now has 50,000 miles. Fortunately most of my huge travel days are over (at this moment). She needs a new set of breaks and of course the airbag light came on after the car was out of warranty. Also have issues with the interior weatherstripping suddenly popping up on the inside of the windshield. Other than those two things, she still runs well. I would like (someday) to get something a bit better for the suspension and lower the car just a touch.

I had planned so much more for her at this point but some other bills have gotten in the way.

Personally, things keep going along. Have had some great times and not so great times. I just try to keep a smile on my face and a kick butt tune in my heart. :)

So hiya, hello, greets. Glad to be back.

Yeah - :) - glad to see you again and glad the car is holding together.

Don't be a stranger. If you do drop in, just say HI even if you aren't going to be around for a while again.

wow I think you are the first forenza/reno owner to put more miles in such a short amount of time than me. First year I had mine I put 30k miles on it and didnt have it at all for 5 weeks of the year. Anyways I know have 63ish k and no major problems.

Anyways, If you wanna spend the money I'd go with the KW suspension...probably variant 1 since you arnt racing or anything. If you'd be happy with just a little stiffer and lower than stock just get apex lowering springs. If your not sure just start with the BMS sway bars and deciede from there... they make a huge difference on the street.

Hello again! LOL

Life has been busy and I am still getting those miles piled up on the car. I did have a spot of trouble yesterday. Seems that someone (me) did not have the coolant replaced at 30K miles as recommended. That same person (me, again) also failed to add some when she noticed it was down to the MIN line. So I spent part of yesterday waiting for a friend to drive some coolant out to me so I could jump back on the road.

Thanks for the suggestions on the suspension. I am hoping to get those done Q1 next year on one of my trips up north (just too many bad run ins with mechanics near me). The brakes will be getting done by the end of the year (cannot believe I typed `breaks' the first time, ugh). Hopefully new wheels and tires at the end of next year.

I still miss my old car but the Reno has been through a lot so far and keeps on going. Too bad they had such a crappy little warranty on the car. Still I expect to have her for another 7 years so she is my baby. :)

I have missed you guys. Y'all are the few that never treated me like an idiot even though I carry a near zero knowledgebase for cars.

Hugs
