Don't blame the mods because of your inadequate protection.

Get a good AntiVirus program. I clicked the link and didn't get any sort of trojan...

virus protection helps... but if you shouldnt be clicking suspicious links anyway. evryone knows they only relate back to porn and trojans.

I have very adequate protection and I would advise you to do a spyware scan because its does not come up on all virus programs I am using Norton corprate edition ver 10

and reread my posts no mods were blamed for anything

Ok, sorry for confusion then.

I see you changed the subject title. Before it was just "Thanks to the mods" which made it look angry as it was in capitals (shouting).

I wouldn't advise Norton at all, and did not notice anything suspicious in the link (are you sure a format was necessary?).

Virus removal is my speciality, drop in sometime if you need a hand or want a checkup.

Yeah I relized that since the deletion that more info was needed

as far as the virus goes yes it was one of those zy.bot or something I used bitdefender pro to get rid of it but after that it started to spread to my network and my back up drives so I shut down the network and went through all 3 computers in my house and cleaned them out but my computer was not going to recover it had slowed down to a crawl anything I did took over 1 hour so after going into safe mode and getting most of what I could I then formated it and then after the fresh install I scanned my backups one more time and loaded them up I am looking for a good spyware program like microsofts antispyware (which now only works with service pack 2) and I really hate service pack 2

anyways I am sure the question will be posted so I will tell you my specs

AMD 64bit 3300 with a gig of ddr ram
2 300 gig Maxtors
GFX 128Mb video card
K8U series gigabyte mother board

Stay away from MS protection software - if they made good software in the first place you would not need protection..

You need ewido anti-malware, it's a fantastic program.

I've never seen problems with Service Pack 2 apart from when it was first released and there were incompatiblity problems, but now theres updated drivers available.
What don't you like about SP2?

service pack2 locks you all up and installs all this crap I dont want, it installs a popup blocker and I allready have one and then it adds a firewall I have that too and when it first came out if you disabled it then it would not let you online and that pissed me off!! lol
