So i'm pretty pissed right now...

Post by Aneab »

Okay so heres the story...

I woke up today around 11 am, i got to sleep in cuz i didn't have to be to work till later that evening... I did my normal stuff on days off, ate food, looked at car sites, checked my myspace...

then work time rolls around...

I guess it's needed to be stated that my neighbors whom live across the street from me, are douche bags... Yes... thats what i'll call them... I dno't know why but they're just weird...

Anyway i found my mirror, on my drivers side pushed back, and i was like "Oh some kid must've been lpaying around near my car, and hit it, no big deal. Well... It was a big deal... You see, I park on the street on nights when i get home late so i'm not behind my dad when he needs to go to work in the mornings... it's easier on both of us... And that decision has lead to be a bad one... I got to work, and my friend asked if i'd always had that big dent in my car. Confused i turned around. and was like WTF?? a dent thats about... 4 inches in diameter is pretty much CARVED into my drivers door...how i missed it ealier i DON"T know... The reason i KNOW it was his truck that did this dent, the paint left... None where the chrome bumper would be close enough to hit, but on my mirror, it's a maroon color, that they only put on Dodge Trucks here... Defiantely Pissed off right now...

The best part, He didn't even run over to appologize or anything, even an appology would've been cool... But he's a douche bag...

~Kyle

PS. i'll have a picture when it's light outside.

if he has that truck you should use a measuring tape to get the height of the dent, and measure how high his bimber is to see if they match (its proof that he did it), also see if there is any paint from your car on his bumper. tell him that if he doesnt fix it you will file a hit and run report with the police (big ticket)

ACtually the police here said there was nothing they could do... they said the damage has to be over $2000 worth, which is a crock of crap imo.. but w/e... I did do some measurements, and it was his bumper the only problem is.. i've never seen this truck washed.. and today it's cleaner than ever... so there is no more paint, but i did find the area my mirror rubbed onto his tailgate.

Did you go over and ask him about it ?

If he thinks he got away with it he probably won't say anything.

Take a digital photo of your mirror and then the guys tailgate.... and let him see you.

Then confront him and say "I found paint from your vehicle on my mirror and it matches the scratch on your tailgate.

He might just break down and say " I didn't notice backing into your car... sorry let me know what it will cost to fix it "

I've had to deal with this before.... and once you confront them they are usually really eager to get it fixed so you don't mention it to the police or insurance.

If the guy denies it .... then you get more serious and say that you will be phoning your insurance company and the "local law inforcement" to start an investigation into this "hit and run".

I wouldn't tip your hand and say that you've phoned the cops.... if he knows you phoned and they do nothing about it he will never pay up.

It's the threat of investigation that gets people worried the most.... especially if they think there might be serious concequences.

i have had problems with them before, for example, they walked RIGHT into my house while my dad was sitting on the chair in the living room.. The woman came in, then ran out, and back home... my dad and i thought she was on drugs or something, cuz she was talking to herself... Yeah... i don't like them... the people who used to live there, were really nice and friendly... then they moved out and we got this bunch of weird people...

Even if the local police won't do anything, your insurance company will.
The insurance companies have a lot of power with lawyers and a lot of pull with the police to get things like this taken care of.

Also, the state police do not ignore rit and run accidents the way your local police did.
