Looks like a nice alarm. How much did you pay for it if you don't mind me asking? Did you install this yourself?

This alarm install was in Autosalon a year or so ago.
If you want, i can scan it and send it to you.

The only problem with this alarm is that remote start is illegal in Australia and the only way the alarm works is if all the features are active... so in theory, if you have this alarm, you can be defected

NFI bro  just our crazy laws

my favourite is the law that in some states your not allowed to drive turbo or V8 on your p plates but then in the state right next door you are... it gets better though... some people on higher level p plates are allowed because they had their license before the law came in... and finally the stupidity of the law... if your primary vehicle, either at home or work, is turbo or V8, you can buy an exemption for the princely sum of $23

and this is meant to stop deaths?

[Rant/] I really dont see how banning high powered cars can solve the problem. Whats the difference between hitting a pole in a WRX going 100km/h and a little Daewoo going at the same speed? hmm...i dunno... except maybe you WONT DIE if your in a WRX.
IMHO they should ban cars that arent safe in collisions as the safest cars are usually the highest powered because of all the extra stresses involved... the authorities have no idea at all [/Rant]

It costed me abt $350 US for the kit (3 years ago, more ex due to color LCD) including a piston gun for the rear 5th hatch door for the boot release function, shock sensor and sound sensor.

I press a button, the rear 5th door will be release just like if I were to pull the boot releasr lever under the driver seat. Useful as I do not need to dis-arm, open door, pull release lever, then walk to rear to open 5th hatch door. I just need to go direct to the rear, press a button. It auto disarm and the pston gun pull the wire inside to release the door. But the rear key hole is useless after this mod. As the key do not pull the wire now, its the piston gun.

Installation is done by my friend. Take abt 2 hour.

That cost more than I expected. I don't need the article thanks, I just picked up a similar but much cheaper alarm with 5km range for $65 on ebay. I haven't finished hooking up the remote start yet but I will do it, mainly so I can set the alarm to start the car and air con before I finish work in summer. I work on the idea that it isn't illegal unless you get caught.

Seriously dude, seeing as your last car got stolen, I would not be skimping on the alarm...
I would be forgetting all the gimmicky options like the colour remote and remote start etc. and be buying a brand name immobiliser/alarm combo.

With the alarm you got off ebay, is the wiring all black?

The alarm was an upgrade from the immobiliser which was previously installed. I like the 2 way alarms as it lets me know when there is a problem and even tells me if the car has been started so I can cut the engine with the remote. The alarm has coloured wires but i used some of the existing black wires from the immobiliser and joined them within a loom cover so it is harder to work out.

I think if someone has the ability to bypass an alarm, the quality or wiring colours won't make any difference. Alarms are just a deterant anyway.

Ah I see, I didn't realise it was just the alarm. I thought it was the alarm and immobiliser combined...
