Smoking from exhaust when driving hard

Hey, i was in germany on the weekend and i was driving the car hard, all of a sudden a load of black smoke came out of the exhaust, i pulled over and it had drunk alot of oil, it does it now and then when the car is warm and is driven hard, the dipstick was slightly overfilled and when it smokes from the exhaust it hesitates for a few seconds, do you think this will be down to the oil being slightly overfilled?

i had my oil overfilled also.... for 2 months straight, then i drain it little bit.... I dont think its from oil tho.... something had to been busted down there...

How to Read Tailpipe Smoke: Black Smoke

Black exhaust smoke is usually caused by a high ratio of fuel to air. Your car should burn a balanced mixture of air and gasoline to make power, but if the ratio is too high, it can cause the black smoke. You will sometimes notice this on older vehicles after first being fired up.

A possible fix would possibly be a tune up or carburetor/fuel injection work.

No engine light, this car is a new engine, only 23,000 miles took it to the garage and they say nothing is wrong with it, when there clearly is or smoke would not come out of the exhaust

i say drain a bit of oil, then also run an injector cleaner in the gas, (make sure to use on a almost full tank) also, make sure theres nothing inside the throttle body, intake port, intake tube, air filter houseing. and if you really wanna get a home run, take apart the intake manifold and clean it. never hurts, just make sure to get replacement gasket(s). also, make sure the little actuator near the throttle body that lets air go by, is clean and not stuck.

people just say to discconect the wire(s), unscrew screws, pull it out, spray in WD-40 and dry. then reverse to install. i think its actually something along the line called a recirculation vavle. not EGR. but also make sure thats semi clean. although if the EGR didnt work, youd get a CEL. (usually)

just done an oil and filter change and put some engine flush in before changing, gave it a good thrashing up and down the motorway when it was hot, all seems ok atm *touch wood* just goes to show them main dealer's are so crap and unreliable some times. might as well not have any warranty, i figre the solution out myself quicker than them lot, and i've only been in the motortrade for 3 years

dont do engine flush.... it fucks up ur car man waist of your engine and $$$

idk, ur best thing to do is do a tune up

no one round here tunes these engines, anyways, it seem to sort out the black smoke and is running sweet so far, so yay i'm going to try go to the nurburgring again in a couple of months as the last visit last weekend went bad as it was smoking like a trooper
