i just welded a new thrush muffler on my lanos, very easy. but now its too damn quiet! lol

ARC doesnt? i know it uses hella lots of electricity. oh well, i was think torch welding. hahaha. even though u said u arced it the first time. good job. and mofo, why did u put a muffler on? mufflers are meant to quiet the sound (most of them are) and theyre for deep sounds like a muscle car, not little high pitched cars. lol

its a plain jane no-name stainless steel 3.5" slash-cut jap-style rear silencer.

land mofo, why did u put a muffler on? mufflers are meant to quiet the sound (most of them are) and theyre for deep sounds like a muscle car, not little high pitched cars.

plain-jane no-name... ie: its a blank. it has no manufacturer/brand. it came from a factory that produce exhausts by the masses then sell them to companies who later put their own brand name on it, whether it be engraved or just a sticker. you could well have the HKS logo engraved on there and people would believe it.

a update on my car.....

have put the standard center silencer on....
3.5" exhaust is welded... will take pic tomorrow... i hope it pass an MOT

rodds what does the exhaust have to go throu during a MOT? i know leaks an Co2 test



i a have a lightent car due to the fack some lit shit trou a BRICK throu my Rear window.....so i don;t have the spoiler and loss the window is a mayor part in the balencing the wight, the handling is crap, as i think it is front heavy....

i hope the new glass going in tomorrow has the holes for the spoiler to bolt on again....

if an exhaust is loud, all they can do on MOT is give an advisory, eg: "Nearside rear Exhaust noisy [7.1.2b]" - but you cant be failed on it. a lot of idiots mite try telling you that an aftermarket (especially straight-cut ones like that) will make ur car fail on emissions, but the fact is you dont even need a single silencer to pass on emissions as thats all taken care of by the engine and cat.

the minimum requirement for the exhaust is just a rear silencer, no matter how loud it is, and obviously if the car is produced after 1992 (which ours are) you need a cat aswell. i had my last mot done a week before i took that backbox off, and didnt have the mid silencer either, it was just that backbox (and the cat ovbiously) - the mot tester loved it and had to give it a little rev and pop in the inspection bay.

i have now got to wait for at least a week for my rear window glass , coz they have to get the glass from the manfacture coz it need the holes for the spoiler....and it Wouldn't cost me more...BUT it not coz they messed up..

i should have ym window fix today...

rthen i am going to get the welder so i can weld some brackets to the exhaust to try and stop it from knocking.....

then the race pipe.. but top top of my list.. i have got to sort my fornt garden so i can park it there
