A new twist to my Performance Problems post

Post by rkarl89203 »

Hi all, especially Treywoo, Benzino, and Mahdouh....

Most likely almost all have read of my ongoing "Performance Problems" epic with my Daewoo Lanos 2001....(post below on forum), don't know how to refer link....

Well, a NEW wrinkle....

As previously posted, I now, after diligent work, have the Lanos running like a bat out of he**!!!
I can go 70 mph UPHILL, I pass SUVs easily, and it's running possibly better than the day I bought it....

BUT

I'm only getting 24 miles to a gallon of gas....almost as low as my wife's VAN....lol

Any ideas? Before I fixed it I got about 29 mpg.....

Any suggestions are appreciated........thanks

Seems about normal to me... I think thats even better than the advertised window sticker. I have the original that came with my woo, and it says 24-28...

I mean its only a 100hp engine, and these cars arnt exactly "light" they are moderate.

Ah well, I sure do like the performance again tho....darn fast little car! Was easily doing 80 mph on the freeway the other day....could've gone faster too....not bad for 103,000 miles!

Well everyone has different opinions about "fast" but I didnt know Fast and Daewoo Lanos could be used in the same sentence...

Maybe Im biased, because my baby is a 95, 850csi and well the lanos is not THAT FAST looool

Nor that expensive on gas so 24 out of the woo is like fuel heaven...

and yeh the 1.6l puts out 100 hp lol, the 1.5s even less

i wouldnt consider 80 on the freeway as fast either
maybe when you're doing 100 on a back road with a '78 celica chasing you, that's pretty fast
