Help Daewoo Cielo 1996 Idle Probelm And Cutt Off!

Post by anyaddress »

hi friends
please i need your help
my car is daewoo cielo 1996 dohc 1.6v
the car was working fine but suddenly the car has a big problem
the idle level is moving between 0.7 and 1.2 alone (when the car is moving or in park) also the car lost its power so when trying to go with car a little upward road its move hardlyy with a voice from exhaust (blablabla :) voice ) , and also its completely stopped sometimes (cut off)
here what i did:
1- i checked idle speed sensor and its ok (moving upward and downward normally when ignition on and off).
2-i checked the tps sensor and seems ok since when i pull the connector from it when the car is turning on the rpm is moving upwards so the tps is adjusting fine .
3-i changed the spark-plug and spark wires with original one (new).
4-i checked the desperator cover(i mean the part where the 5 spark plug wires is connected, didn't know its name in English :) changed by a another one i have) also checked the rotating gap inside it and cleaned it
5- i tring to reset ecu by disconnecting negative battery terminal for about 10 min .
6- i make idle speed learning method

so please i need your help because all of this didnt solve the problem
is it a problem in the motor ,i have told by freind that this could happen by miss firing order, but is it possible the timing built is shifted from it position and cause that
thanks you

Hey there, are there any lights on on the dash? If so I would retrieve the error codes and proceed from there. If no error codes I would hook up a scan tool and check my o2 sensor readings for a rich or lean condition, based on those readings I would proceed to the respective system...

Visual checks you can do are
spark check by pulling a wire and visually checking for good strong spark

spark plug check should be brownish in color and have element on the tips very white or gray would indicate lean condition blk and fuel smell indicate rich. Green is coolant contamination. oily sticky residue indicates oil contamination

timing check(of the belt) make sure the timing marks align with the corresponding marks

the distributor can be installed incorrectly but the car will just fail to start unless you removed the distributor from the engine this will not happen. check that the wires are running to the correct cylinder from the cap and viceversa. The ignition timing may have moved, but the distributor has very minimal adjustment. try loosening the hold down bolt and turning it, attempting to achieve better engine operation. A timing light is required to properly set ignition timing.

if you have a gauge compression test all 4 cylinders 120-160psi is normal, however all cylinders should not read less han 25% from one another

if you have a fuel gauge pressure test the system 35psi is operating specs at idle, 40-60 at 4k rpm+
