New 1.4L turbo from GM

when I was surfing the internet I found this link

they say that GM will produce the 1.4L turbo aveo in the american market . I need to know is this true or just a false talk . also if yes what is the specs of the new engine and how they will manage it

That seems to be the case, it seems like it will be offered in the new Aveo RS model.

But it only sports 138 hp, nothing to brag about. Im not even exited about this new engine.

138 hp is what you'll get from a de-tuned version designed for fuel economy. This engine will have a lot of potential. I imagine it will be similiar to the other direct injection engines (solstice, cobalt ss turbo), and GM will offer a performance chip for it to run on only premium gas, but put out significantly more power. I'm sure that we'll be seeing some nice high-performance smaller Chevy cars with this engine - I think GM is serious about stepping up their game!

wow. 1.4L putting out more power than my 1.6L
but if thats the case, then basically, wouldn't it be almost a direct swap to the lanos?
