got the 4-2-1 manifold on today... first thing i noticed is the engine revs harder under load; it pulls strong right through to the rev limiter.
when not under load it revs a lot quicker... the rev counter dont even keep up; the engine hits the rev limiter when the tachometer is still at around 5000 rpm
other than that... i havnt yet wrapped it in fibreglass heatwrap, a lot of heat seems to be escaping through the manifold, even when the engine's running and up to temperature you can lightly touch the manifold.
i'm also currently running it de-cat... and can feel the lack of backpressure in the very low rpm range, below 2000 rpm.
as for idling, once up to temperature its perfectly fine.
i did run into a few problems when fitting it...
-the majority of the bolt holes didn't align properly, so i had to bore out 6 of the 8.
-the bottom 4 nuts are very hard to tighten because of the bends in the pipes as they leave the flange/header are too close - making it impossible to get a socket in there, and its not the biggest of gaps to swing a spanner.

WHERE ARE THE PICS!?
WHERE ARE THE PICS!?

the 8v engines dont have the egr port on the exhaust manifold... its elsewhere (if existent at all) i believe.gse_turbo wrote:how about the EGR system? any issues?

i'll get pics up as soon as i can find the cable for my camera to get the pictures on my computer. (i'll be putting them up in the members cars section.)

the O2 sensor is located just after the last 2 pipes come together... you can see in one of the pictures where it is.MMamdouh wrote:looks very nice...

and all UK lanos' have only one radiator fan as far as i know. I've never seen a lanos with 2 fans over here.

the only lanoses that i saw with one radiator fans were the ones that came with no A/C... do you guys have no A/C on your cars?

The price was reduced in comparison with what was earlier, now it's serial production.
It's device is a complete component, which may be set each novice, no welding, no other additional cost, but you still have to buy a new gasket ( it disposable)...

@NITRO: you have warned me before about heat wrapping the manifold with fibreglass wrap, saying it will ruin the manifold. I am still not too sure as to what exactly you mean by this.
Do you have any hard evidence or proof or pictures as to what can happen if the manifold was wrapped? If you mean the extra bit of heat kept in the metal will make it lose shape/form or break the welds, im not sure. dont see how that can happen though.
any one else feel free to help explain why it may be a bad idea to heat wrap these particular manifolds.
the reason i'm asking is because ive got 20 meters of the stuff which has cost me around £30 and dont want to see it go to waste.

Wrapped manifold- for stainless steell version ONLY!! And this interesting for TURBO engine only!Rodd1s wrote:@NITRO: you have warned me before about heat wrapping the manifold with fibreglass wrap, saying it will ruin the manifold. I am still not too sure as to what exactly you mean by this.

In your case i must sale wrap-because it not need for this manifold.
