Hi,
i think there is a fault in the table. I think it should be :
F13 (4 speed)
---------------
Early Pontiac Lemans
Opel Kadett 1.6-1.3 / Vauxhall Astra 1.6-1.3
Opel Corsa
F16WR (wide ratio)
---------------
Opel/Vauxhall Kadett/Astra/Vectra 1.8-2.0 / 1.8-2.0 (C18NZ, C18NE,C20NE)
Pontiac Lemans/Daewoo Racer/Lanos
F16CR (close ratio, same as F20)
---------------
Opel Kadett GSI 8V/ Vauxhall Astra Mk2 GTE 8V(C20NE, 20SEH)
early Opel Kadett GSI 16V
[.....]
F25
---------------
Opel/Vauxhall Calibra/Vectra 2,5 V6 (C25XE, X25XE)

here is the ultimate transmission resource page...... has gear ratios for all kinds of GM transmissions including the Aveo
It also shows the Lemans as having both an F16 and F13.... but a 5spd F13.
http://www.vibratesoftware.com/html_hel ... ssions.htm
here is some info on final drive ratios....
http://www.vibratesoftware.com/html_hel ... _axles.htm
( Optra, Aveo .... added at bottom of list)

oooo I found some info that might help my predicament
The 1.8 Astra GTE had an 18E (at least the one made between 1983-85 did). That mated to a F16 gearbox. Anyone want to take a stab in the dark and guess whether it was a Wide Ratio gearbox or a Close Ratio gearbox?
If not, who knows the difference between an F16WR and an F20 gearbox?
Thanks if you can help guys
EDIT: F18E engine mated to the F16CR gearbox

gear ratio
The f 16cr and f20 boxes are the same only the final drive is different f16cr(3.8:1) f20(3.5:1)final drive .f13 and f15 come out on diesel astras>
If you want a good setup you have to get a 16cr box open it up take out lay gears and drive fit every thing on the dawoo f16 lay gear and use the daewoo f16 housing with final drive as the one of the daewoo has a 4.19:1 final drive ! i use to have one but broke it as the speedo gear fell in the box and was pulled ip between gears while driving!
this setup will be good for 200kms in 5th but you get a good accelaration on all gears. i have to do anothe one

Re: gear ratio
I've been interested lately in building a good 5sp tranny.cielo20 wrote:The f 16cr and f20 boxes are the same only the final drive is different f16cr(3.8:1) f20(3.5:1)final drive .f13 and f15 come out on diesel astras>

From what I'm reading I wanna get an F16CR(or D16CR) with a different final drive.
What about if I have higher hp (200-230whp) and a lightened flywheel?
Do you think the gears will be too close then?
Also, does anyone have any info on good clutches for the F16(or D16CR) that one would use with a higher hp engine?
I'm talking for the Automatic Transmission.
And what about the tranny model number for the 1.8L? (Chevy Optra)
It is said that the 1.8L engine is basicly the same as the 2.0L so what is the tranny number for the 2.0L if it is the same as the 1.8L.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Thanx

T18SED Engine.
Need... F28 + C20LET.
Question, is it hard/expensive for them to shift an F28 + C20LET to FWD? Cause I'd assume it'd be more expensive to get my FWD made a 4x4.

I am new to the forum, and I do not own a Daewoo but know Vauxhall Astras very well. I am scheming to build a rally Daewoo Lanos in the US, and I would like to know if anyone has the gear ratios and final drive ratio for the manual transmission 1.6L DOHC US-spec Lanos.
I am seeing conflicting information on the gear ratios for the US-spec 1.6L manual Lanos. The parts manual found on here shows a FD ratio of 3.72, but when I check on www.daewoous.com on their online parts ordering system, it shows only the 4.176 FD gear is available and for the transaxle as a complete part is shows "4.176 W/R" in the comments.
Could I ask a big favor of anyone with a US-spec Lanos - could you look through any brochure or owner's manual you have to see if any gear ratios are listed?
Thanks in advance for any help with the above.
