well all the hoses are connected and all the fluid is in
it was fun chopping and changing hoses trying to make it all fit in the tighter engine bay

now I have to go away for work... so it has to sit for a week while it waits to be wired up
I guess over the next week I'll be trying to plan what needs to be done for the wiring

I need to know the length of the drive belt to use with the A/C delete brackets... it's been doing my head in, I just can't find any that will fit

I measured it and every one I try is too small and won't go on...

If anyone knows, PLEASE! let me know

it ended up being a 1260... now the PAS is pissing out everywhere

all sorted now... FINALLY!

the wiring felt easy compared to finding the god damned belt and the power steering hose ended up being not seated properly

I don't think I'll ever do an engine swap again hahahaha

all that needs to be done is the exhaust to be joined to the catalytic converter

i should be able to go for a drive though

A quick update.
Had some issues with the brand new seals leaking, but they seem to have settled now and are behaving.
Also had oil pressure issues which ended up being sludge in the sump blocking the pick-up (thank god it wasn't bearings).

It is so nice to be able to drive effortlessly with so much more torque than before. It does feel choked above 4000 rpm which is most likely because of the stock 1.75" lanos exhaust (leganza exhaust is 2" stock) and maybe the resonator on the intake.

4th gear 60km/h to 100km/h feels magical (never thought i'd be saying that ) it's a very smooth whoosh as revs build.

Congrats bro. I think I've promised some pictures of my lanos, but have forgotten about that since..forever ago. Your Daewoo looks hott. I can't stop dreaming about slowly fixing up my baby.

now i got confused in the middle of the topic about the power steering pump... you already made arrangements to put the drive belt around the alternator and A/C compressor only so i thought you were going to sacrifice the power steering but then i saw pics for the power steering getting drilled and you mentioned power steering fluids yet i can't see where did you put the power steering pump or how are you driving it

please clarify this area for me as a friend is considering the same swap project.. also are you sure the D16 gearbox will handle the 2.0 engine with no problems??

well i never said that i was keeping a/c, and i ripped it all out.
I had the power steering pump relocation brackets from garrett. So the ps pump is now where the ac used to be and the front engine mount is where the ps used to be.
One time i lost ps due to belt slip and it was a dog to drive, really unpleasant and difficult... Not recommended.

My d16 is holding up fine so far, but i don't drive crazy and dump the clutch all the time. I damaged the shift linkage a bit when i was trying to get the 1.5 out so that limits how hard i drive mainly because the shifting isn't as accurate. Like if i go from 4-5 it sometimes goes 4-3. I can tell when it does though and before i let the clutch out.

i thought you kept the A/C from the first pics you posted to demonstrate the proposed the belt path... i must have mixed things up

i am sure the power steering is a bliss but the A/C is a bliss as well so haven't you considered keeping the A/C compressor as it is and use an electric power steering pump form an Opel just like Mr. G??

Sure you could but you would still have to modify brackets + supply and fit the electronic ps.
I'd rather not have the ac but it's not as hot as egypt here
Think of the weight saving too and the engin bay looks a tonne neater without all the extra pipes.
