True, but it does state it comes with the right exhaust manifold (which is half the problem of starting a turbo conversion) - i know it was for me.

That's a helluva starting point for anyone wanting to do a turbo conversion.. having a manifold with a turbo that mounts directly to your block without cutting/welding etc. from there it's all downhill really (well, to some extent :doubt: )

hahahaha yeah

i can imagine alot of people putting them on with std management and winding up the wick for a week before finding the pistons coming out as molten sludge when the oil's changed

My biggest problem was the clutch not coping, engine was fine even when it was over-boosting to 10-12 psi (which happened often - dodgey waste gate i think)... it was when it hit just over 1bar that the clutch gave up

benzino's right. there is nothing special about this kit, even the manifold/header. keep in mind that it's for an C20 motor not the T/U/X/Z20 motors. you would still have to cut the flange off and weld the ecotec flange on for most ddaewoo's here in the states, around the world for that matter. then you have to favtor in posting this kit to the states which would not be cheap.

if you're in the UK or close to then it's well worth it to have a stating point. anywhere else is still in need of a proper manifold.

Hmm
Yeah, it would probably work out cheaper to get the universal kit from the US and just use the stock manifold with the turbo flange welded on.

was just a bit of fun at the time... just wanted to see if i can do it.

other factors also helped me decide to take it off:
-using too much fuel, considering at the time i drove 100 miles per day 4 days a week for uni.
-and it killed the clutch - it obliterated it - and i couldnt find an uprated one that would fit at the time.

My friend has C20XE with 11:1CR (lowered head) and bought exhaust manifold for T3 turbine. Put T3, ARP bolts on con rods, z20let head gasket, T3 trim60, VEMS, 1000cc injectors, E85 fuel, IC, etc... Engine was from the junkyard, and he is putting out 300+HP day after day... The whole conversion was around 3000$...
