Re: T-Belt not a how to
what problems will it cause Garrett? Is there a coolant gallery behind it?
also, my leganza TB has the bulge, so any particular years that don't have it?

there is a big cavity for the idel air control.
it has to the the 2.2 motor, all the 2.0 throttles are the same.
if they're not available where you're at I'm sure I could find them here and have it shipped out.

I swear the IAC is on the other side though.
But on the side with the bulge there is a coolant pipe going in and a coolant pipe going out so i just assumed it was to do with that

there are two bulges. the one before the butterfly is the side with the collant tube. that side can be opened up with out hurting anything. the other one is aftr the butterfly and it's accross from the other bulge and that one is the IAC cavity.
Re: T-Belt not a how to
Oh I didn't even know about that one!
Re: T-Belt not a how to
cheapest way would be to get a TB off ebay that doesn't have it
(unless machining is really cheap where you are)

Re: T-Belt not a how to
i have a 2.0 engineTB and i was thinking of fitting it to my 1.5 SOHC engine... the only concern is that the port in the intake manifold is as small as the OEM TB so i was thinking adding a better TB will do no good as i still have a restriction in the air passage into the intake mani
can someone that put the 2.0 TB on a 1.5 SOHC (or a 1.6 DOCH) confirm that this mod actually enhance the performance of the car??

Re: T-Belt not a how to
i put the 2.2 throttle on my 1.6 DOHC and say pretty good performance. then again I also had a light wieght flywheel.
I ported out the throttle opening in the manifold to match it and it went really well. the only issue that I had was the position of the throttle rotor. if an aftermarket throttle rotor could be fixed to it in the propper position then it would be a really good upgrade.

Nice paint work. This part is getting hot. What kind of paint was used?
