Hi all,
Its been a while but Im hoping someone can help.
My trusty '99 1.5 woo (220k km on the clock) has an intermittent hand brake light issue, though lately its on most of the time in forward gears only. Its not a solid on or off state, more that it 'stutters'. Im not feeling any degradation in braking and I have only recently replaced rotors, pads and fluid (it was also doing it before this).
Im thinking its one of two things:
1. Loose contact somewhere, or
2. Possible alternator issue.
The alternator Im just drawing from past experience (nissan), where I had the battery and brake light come on (this was the signal that the alternator had died).
If anyone has had the same or can offer up where to look, tap, tighten, replace, would be greatly appreciated. Like I said, theres nothing noticable, just an annoying light on the dash.
Thanks

Re: 99 lanos 1.5 intermittent hand brake light
in the lanos, low brake fluid also triggers the light...
maybe that sensor is going bad or the handbrake sensor is sticking
the alternator has a separate light
the low brake fluid sensor is on the master cylinder cap
I believe the handbrake sensor is in the centre console where the handbrake lever is
