How accurate
Are these performence computers that caculate G force for corning, accel, break. 0-60 times, 1/4 mile, 1/8 mile, 60-0 and all that stuff?

Yeah theres one for like 220$ that calcs your peak hp and stuff comes with software to give your a graph and everything on your PC... If its very accurate for hp too its worth it. I was just gonna use a stop watch for 0-60 time and stuff to see how much little things improve the time.

I forgot to add, how does it hook up to your car? They dont give much detail on it.
Right now im just checking out the ones on cardomain, but i think i found a winner.

Most expensive but also seams the best, by far. Extra 60$ for the G senor though which you need too calculate HP and you can put it into a graph to see where power is lost and what not. Dyno near me costs $70 and they dont do all that much. Plus theyre rude to people who arnt pushing at least 300hp.

The ones i've seen around just involve calculating your hp / etc using a G sensor and inputting your cars weight.
Sorta like guestimation - don't see how it could ever compare to a dyno

Look here, it says it knows the RPMs just from the cigaratte lighter. How is this possible? On the webstie it says how accurate it is, everything they claim is really good. but i dont understand how it can work? I dont know much abotu this stuff either though
I'm the worst person in the World for getting x-mas presents so i think i might ask for this for x-mas but i wanna make sure its even worth it.
thanks,
Dan

rpm signal in everywire? i beg to differ if that would be the case all the voltage would jump meaning the car engien would never get a correct measurement... also when builing in LPG (alternate fuel system in EU) we NEED to use either rpm signal on dis coil or on the rpm meter.. dont c how this thing can get a "correct" rpm signal from a sigarette lighter?

This post is really outdated... anyways i bought the gtech pro.. and well the RPMS are like +/- 50. Its really nice.. the only thing ive heard bad things about is the hp/tq calc... but its 100% consistent so at least you can tell if mods improve it or not.. but they try to calculate the hp to the wheels (i think)

Yes, with one major detail... beltronics sucks a lot. SOOOO inaccurate in EVERY way, that's why I sold it (also explains why it's so cheap).daftmajin wrote:the beltronics ones have sensors inside the device that measure performance by the movement the sensors make by the cars movement. you just hook up the power and the device has a suction cup so it will stick to the window and it senses the movement of the car.
