oil pressure switch and feed line(for Turbo)

Might anyone know what thread size does the lanos 1.6l have in an oil pressure swith, I need to run the feed oil line for the turbo and its not fitting. does anyone know if it is similar to any other car model. if any one has encountered this, what was your solution? thanks

use a oil cooler adapter... goes on where the filter is. cost like 20$ thats what i got

i geuss it could be ghetto but i would rather run a oil cooler than not, it allows the engine and turbo to run so much cooler.. and i dont think its possible to run an oil cooler from the location of the pressure switch,

dammit i dont know what i did with the package.. i have the part but i dont know what the part number is... ill have to see if its on ther.. its from maxiflow or soemthing like that ...

i just got off work so ill see what i can do later

I just got one delivered yesterday 8). Im from Australia and it was really hard to lay my hands on the part so I got it thru http://www.vpw.com.au

Its an Oil Sandwich Adapter. The one i got was from TD Performance Products http://www.tdperformance.com/

Part number is TD-1350. Same one as for GM (Holden) V6 motors...

Test fitted it and it fits like a dream (its not on there now because i havent got the rest piped up yet, the center adapter needs to make atleast four turns on the outlet which it does). I decided against disturbing the oil pressure switch - plus the run of oil tube will be really short so the pressure will be fine. I more than likely wont run an oil cooler either, just buy a blank fitting for one of the two threaded outs from the adapter.


For the return from the turbo i agree with taping the oil pan and put some sort of threaded fitting in there with washers on either side.

how the adapter works is that one is OUT and one is IN, it should have a small hole for when the car is cold and needs to warm up alittle faster.. but you need to run a tube from the out into the in or your motor will not get the right amount of oil, plugging it with a blank probably wouldnt be a smart idea

Hmmm... i guess its only one more fitting, shouldnt be too hard then i guess :) Are you suggesting getting a feed from a T into that link tube between the IN and OUT your talking about?

I guess the pressure would be enough to provide enough of a feed to the turbo and back to the IN.

Since ur running an oil cooler, did you T off the IN tube back to the adapter after the oil cooler?

yep... right after the oil cooler before it goes back into the engine.. gives the turbo a nice cool oil... its not that you need a ton of oil pressure.. it just needs fresh oi,l there are superchargers out there that have its own oil but the problem with that is that you have to change it like every 500 miles.. if even that long

Do you have a picture of thie oil sandwich adaptor in place???

I should be getting most of the turbo work finished next week (aluminium intake piping getting welded up next week, oil fittings are here (just need to find coolant feed - ideas?), slimline Davies Craig fan is getting delivered, turbo is getting stripped down tomorrow so its looking good)....

Ill let everyone know how i go.... im hoping to get away without changing the injectors - but ive got a price for 2L nubira injectors for $45AU/each. Is this about right for used injectors from a wrecker?

thats not too bad... my friend is going to give me a set of 2.0 off his turbo talon.. they are 440cc, i will see how they work :)

The colant supply would best be taken fromt he throttle body colant lines, you could acctually jsut use both of those lines and not run it back to the tb, that is what I am doing anyways, as those linesare really there to keep the tb plate from freezing in colder coutnries. I did that on my first turbo car aswell, just use those, it is easier than tryingto fin a plug int he block. As for the injectors, if you are planning on running low boost, you gould just get a 12:1 fmu and a larger pump, that will be adequete for up to about 7 or 8 psi. It would also be a good idea to invest in a s-afc, or a sfc from field, that will allow you to adjust your injector duty cycle and make them stay open a little longer, which will help. I am in the middle of trboing my car now. I am just wating on my manifold and then the turbo job should be done torrow. I got the engine broken down and the head was sent to get prepped. Got that back today, and I am going to put it back on tomrrow, so hopefully I will be under boost by tomrrow night. Throttle body coolant lines - do they have a constant feed of coolant? I wasnt sure if the flow of coolant is like regulated to them in any way? I could T into them pretty easily i guess... that would make things easier. 8)

Ive got a malpassi RRFPR but nothing else yet... Im thinking i may need those Nubira injectors after all, dont know how lean ill run with low boost yet.

What are you changing fuel system wise?

I dont really want to change anything computer/electronics wise just yet. Are you going to use SAFC?
