what breather filter should i throw on that?

Yours is the old design with the crank case breather inlet. I am sending the hose you need to go from the breather to the intake pipe. If you do want to go another route you can just cap off the inlet on the intake pipe and either do a breather filter or set up a catch can.

yeah I told him to get a filter recharge kit. that oily mess on the filter is from the crank case vent blowing out oil and it travels down the tube and into the filter.
