This is a segment of Top Gear.

Evo 8 FQ400 vs Lambo Murcielago.

Moves me to tears to see how it kept with the monster. Also moved me to tears when they showed the turbo lag.

Wow ... with almost 4 hours download time on my dialup connection for that 40 meg file, it was worth it!!

A guy at work has a red Evo and he loves it. I've not had the chance to drive it, but I may just have to get him to let me.

dahm. For a "family" car the evo make and excellen performance. And about that turbo lag.. if you are not race you will not change hight shift at 30mph

BTW: FQ400 means F*cking quick 400 HP...

about that LAG... what was he thinking? i just UPSHIFT to 3rd... and bye bye

it is a racing car in a family car suit who gives a damn about 4.5 MPG... you got 400 HP and AWD for god's sake!

and about that turbo lag... who the f#$k will be in top gear at 30 MPH in that car, or any car... hell if i was in my Woo i would have down shifted to second, floored it till i hit 50 MPH and then i slamm in the 3rd gear leaving that Fiat or whatever that was 100 miles behind.

frankly if you don't know how to make use of your car then you are not worthy of beeing behind its wheel.

Well, the fiat was in top gear as well... so of course you wouldve left him 100 miles behind. Many of you guys seem to misunderstand the point there... they were both in top gear at 30mph and fiat won. Basically fiat 1.6l vs lancer evo8 2.0l (non turbo).

i know that...i just don't see the point of it, who would buy a 400 HP, 0-60 MPH in 3.5 seconds car to put it in 6th gear at 30 MPH then complain about it as if it is a defect?

it is like saying "the F1 car has a rough ride"... who the hell cares, it is not a defect in the car... it is just the way it is built and it serves its purpose.

you got a super car so the only points you can complaine about is performance issues (REAL performance issues) i don't care if it has crappy radio or painted in primer... as long as the engine is giving its best, power going to all wheels, steering pointy and sharp, brakes can stop a fraid train then i should do nothing but enjoy my ride.

hell the man even pushed the Lambo into a spin then i complain about going in 6th gear at 30 MPH?? this is the most rediculus thing i have ever heard... i really like Jeremy Clarkson but that one got out of hand, i am sure if that car was in the hands of Tiff Needell he wouldn't complained about that... hell he even could have over took that Lambo.

yes indeed you are quite right about that... in an old episode of the Top Gear show Jeremy once critisized the seats in a Jaguar saying: those seats will give -what's his face - a cramp! but the producer didn't agree with that so they had to retake that shot and Jeremy said: those seats are very comfortable that the last time i felt that relaxed... baby oil was involved

so basically not every thing you see is 100% subjective... you just see what they offer and test and you make your mind, the way i see it THE EVO RULES :twisted:

OK the lag might be big but he said that is because of the big turbo... a big turbo that makes a 2.0 pump out 400 HP... still can't complain much about it.
