H&R, Eibach and Intrax springs: What's the differance?
It is almost time for me to buy lowering springs for my Lanos, and I don't know which to get.
The 3 readily available brands of springs for lowering the Lanos are H&R, Eibach and Intrax.
The Eibach lower the car 1.2" front and back.
The Intrax lower the car 1.5" front and back.
The H&R lower the car 1.4" front and 1.3" in the back.
All three brands can be purchased for around $200.
My question, what is the differance between them and what makes one better or worse than the other?

Just wanted to add that there's also B&G springs available for Lanos that lower 1.6" They're also around $200, but I have seen it for $160 somewhere... can't find it now.TheGreatAndPowerfulOz wrote:It is almost time for me to buy lowering springs for my Lanos, and I don't know which to get.

But people just have to try them in order to know the difference...

A couple of friends drive their cars equipped with H&R springs, and they both complain about very harsh ride. I cannot comment on the Eibach, nor Intrax, but I can say the APEX will offer the initial comfort zone, with superb roll control while cornering.
Another fact to take into the consideration is lack of camber adjustment on Lanos, which will cause premature tire wear and possibly dangerous road handling when lowered too much.

That's what I'm experiencing right now with my cut springs.... So Eibach will actually raise my car by like an inch or so.360 Dynamics wrote:Another fact to take into the consideration is lack of camber adjustment on Lanos, which will cause premature tire wear and possibly dangerous road handling when lowered too much.

Hey man go with Eibach it's the best spring you can buy.TheGreatAndPowerfulOz wrote:I'm leaning toward the Eibach because they are only a 1.2" drop.
This shouldn't cause too much misalignment and the tires won't wear badly.
I've also heard that they handle well and have nice ride comfort, too.
Any other input is still highly appreciated.
Thanks everyone!

My cousin has them on his corolla and they will give you a smooth ride and your tires won't wear as fast.

Does Eibach make lowering springs for the Leganza, or I am only stuck with the Intrax ones? and if so, does that require a camber kit?...once i get lowering springs what else is recommended for me to get?
