1.6l max safe psi

Post by Brian5475E »

What is a safe boost level for a stock internals 1.6l. I want to turbo or s/c, but I'm afraid I'll blow my engine

The 1.6 has a 9:5.1 compresion like the 2.0, so i bet a 10 psi for the track and 8 psi will not hurt the engine.

My concern will be the setup. Turbo engines generate a lot of heat wich is one of the main elements of detonation. a SAFC II and other bits with the right person tunning it should do the trick.
