Although the 6spd would be cool the 5spd should be the best for 0-60 and 1/4mile times since there are less shifts involved.
That is to say on a 5spd that's set up correctly your 2-3 shift should be at about 102 to 105km/h. This way your only shift is from first to second and you hit the 0-60 before the next shift.
With the 6spd the gearing is closer so you will have to "row" the gearbox quicker and more often. As well it's likely that the 2-3 shift will be at around 80km/h so you will have an extra shift in the 0-60mph.
So basicly running a 6spd vs 5spd is going to increase your 0-60mph time just slightly and it may even do something to the 1/4mile.....hard to say....really depends on how the powerband is setup.....if your low on power the 6spd is a good choice.....if you have major power the 5spd would be best.
I personally like the 6spd F28 Getrag but I doubt I will go that road at first....I will first try to destroy my spare F16 and then move on to an F20.
Eventually I will probably import the F28 with a FWD conversion but only time will tell as I want to see how each tranny will hold up.
