Clunk noise when braking while reversing

Post by bluecube »

Hey,

When I reverse at any speed and then put my foot on the brake it makes a clunky noise (no matter if i only brake softly). It almost feels like the front brakes are gripping before the rear drums or something. Anyone else got this problem?

in reverse things are pretty different... the larger load now is on the weak rear brakes whereas the front strong brakes got nothing really brake so it is more likely to lock the front in reverse.

try to see where exactly the sounds comes from, front or rear? and then check the brakes... if you got too many miles on your car (60,000 miles or more) then you need to check the rear pads, also check the front pads anyways because they are the ones doing most of the braking and we don't want those to fail.
