After 5 years of doing the job properly, my rotors went out!

I need a new aftermarket rotors and pads that would fit without any modifications, and keeping the old calibers.

Keep in mind that I have a 15? Rims on a lanos 99'

Slotted ones will be the ones in mind.

Hope im not asking for too much, ur help would be appreciated :wink:

IMPORTANT REMINDER: Slotted, drilled or dimpled rotors offered as OEM replacements should not be considered appropriate for high-speed track use.

While grooved, drilled and slotted rotors offer an enhanced appearance and add some resistance to the boundary layer of gasses that can build up between the pad and rotor, they are not designed to withstand the extreme temperatures that are produced on the racetrack. If they are used on the track, it is very important that the rotors be carefully inspected and should not be driven on if even minor signs of deterioration are seen. Note, too, that if any products are used on the track they are not warrantable.

If you plan to do any kind of hard driving, Tirerack reccomends just solid rotors. I opted for Brembo replacement rotors and Bendix Semi-Metallic pads. The Brembos where considered "racing style" rotors. The whole thing ended up costing somewhere in the neighborhood of about $140 USD.

its my daily car, sou think i should go with Brembos?

If you are only buying the slotted rotors for looks and you won't be racing your car, then, go for it, it shouldn't be a problem with only daily driving. If you are buying slotted for their performance, it wouldn't make much sense because you probabally use them only for city driving, and regular vented rotors would work just as well, with barely any decrease in power over slotted. I was going for drilled/slotted until I looked around and found that the holes and slots are mostly for looks and they weaken the rotor and they are not a big improvement performance wise. So for my daily driver Lanos I opted for plain Brembos which are "racing oriented". I don't really care that much for racing my car, but Brembos are quality brakes that I could find fairly inexpensive. So, it is up to you, Brembos can be found easily and are not expensive, and slotted rotors can be found easily, just more expensive for not a huge improvement. It is really up to you.

i replaced my old OEM rotors with brembo rotors... they fit like a glove and works fine.

also remeber that slotted rotors will eat up pads some 15% more than non slotted.

the price was 220 LE... that is some 37.30 USD but remember that i have a 1.5 SOHC and 12" front rotors.

if you got a 1.6 DOHC then you have the 13" rotors in the front which is equavelent to our Nubira brakes... i can ask for the price for you if you do have 13" front rotors.

Ok that wasnt successful :oops:

any one got an idea about the rotor size on the 1.6 if its 12" or 13"?

Lanos SE 1.6 16v DOHC HB... any more info needed ? :P
