280 HP from a 1100 CC engine is too much... i am sure their is so many mods done to the engine and i am sure the boost is very high.
their used to be a FIAT UNO with 1000 CC and turbo as OEM... the car produced 100 HP compared to the 45 HP from the N\A 1000 CC so a 55 HP from the turbo is logical.
concerning the Nexia (AKA Racer) i don't know if daewoo ever put a 1100 CC on to that car so i don't know from where did they get the engine and most probably it will pull out some 65 to 70 HP as N/A... can a big ass turbo add 210 HP to that engine??

moin,
this is no daewoo engine. but i think the 280 HP are true. 1983, bmw win the formel 1 with a 1,5 and 1400HP by 5,5 bar and i believe 19.000 rpm the garretts run nearly 110.000 rpm. this engine has round about 930 HP per 1000ccm.
now you know what you want
btw: in the nexia is no H-shifting...a sequentielle gearbox is at working

fire out the exhaust is a normal thing on highly tuned engines like rally cars. when the transmission is downshifted the exhasut is still rich because the engine hasn't slowed down and the throttle body is closed (thus the valves dump un-burnt fuel in the exhaust). this happens a lot in rally, f1, le mans, etc...
don't confuse it with a "flame thrower" (stupid piece of junk)
don't confuse it with a "flame thrower" (stupid piece of junk)
and this could be the anti lag system where the fuel is delibratly dumped into the exhaust in order to keep the tubo spinning.
you see when you are off the throttle the exhaust gasses are much less and the turbo loses lots of its rotatin and it needs some time (few sec. i guess) to spool in what is called "turbo lag"
in order to overcome the lag, some fuel is dumped into the exhaust and it burns instantly due to the high temp. in their and accordingly a small blast of fire is formed which makes enough pressure to keep the turbo spinning while you shift gears... this is associated by the phenominal fire from the exhaust and it is very common with rally cars.

Most times, anitlag is jsut like a spark plug directly infront of the turbo and it sparks and ignites teh mixtre in the manifold to spool the turbo ( at least that is what I ahve always thought) THe fire comin out of the tailpip is probably when he lifted , the mixture runns a little richer when u lift ( f u have an external bov) I used to have flames like that coming out of the tailpipe on my corolla when i lifeted, to shift

Something i just noticed; look how thin his tires look. Im not sure if they just appear that way but they look like they're only about as thick as the fenders flare out

not to mention that the car is in tripod mode while going out of a corner... seems like a rather fragile project to me.

I have heard that antilag systems are a spare (small) fuel injector inserted in the manifold just before the turbo and I believe they have an ON/OFF solenoid that can be controlled from the cabin. With an antilag system like that, turbo lag is eliminated @ only 800 RPM, so you get boost through the whole range. Another system I have heard of is to use a super and turbo charger on a car, super for low RPM, turbo for high RPM.
However, I have not yet heard of an antilag system in a rally car, only in dragsters, rally drivers don't need any extra heat blowing up in their manifolds.
