Daewoo Roadster...
here it is: http://community.webshots.com/user/brianallmotor
enjoy my little project.
you should see how high off the ground it is now that there's no weight in the car!
replacing cyl 4 injector tomorrow morning, hopefully it'll get the thing out of 'limp mode' and i can finally drive it.

turns out that the injector just wasn't plugged into the wire harness all the way!! so now the engine is running a little better. but i still got a problem with it. i'll post that in the engine section tho...
there are some more pics up now. the car drives like a boat- totally unresponsive. but atleast the frame hasn't twisted or anything yet. took it out for a ride today. doors still open and close fine, no signs of bending yet.
i'll keep you guys posted with the upcomming mods....

moin,
long time ago, daewoo built a prototyp of a lanos ragtop.
i miss some strutting to stabilize the structure. if you don?t build this in, the car will drive in all directions but not straight and in one year no door will fit...
btw: in this car, you have no big chance to survive a crash, because the roof is important by absorbing crash energy.
but the idea is good

went to a local auto cross today. spoke with someone who does a lot of fabricating and has expreince with roll cages, he showed me where all the points of the cage/bar should be welded and offered to help me bend up the bars and weld them at his shop. car guys rock.

Re: cool
Sounds like nearly all the cars at the drift sessions that NASA has been doing latly.. nearly all there cars are like that. Most all are turbo'd. About half have wide bodys and about a third have metalic paintpython235 wrote:look at the end, slap on a SEXY custom made wide body kit and metallic paint and turbo charge it if it goes stiff enough!! and you will make 1 kind of a daewoo never been made!
good luck dude !

You should have braced it before cutting off the roof... saying the doors still shut isn't a good indication of unibody frame shift... I bet if you took it into a frame shop they would find several dimensional changes in the frame structure.
A partial roll cage installed prior to cutting would have made all the difference in the world with respect to keeping structural integrity and alignment.
I hope you don't get yourself killed. ( perhaps it would make a good Darwin award )
I think you would have to be crazy to drive it around like this.
