Supercharger

Post by Silver Daewoo »

:?: Does anyone know if the supercharger on the Chevy Cobalt would fit a Daewoo Lanos. I think that the intake manifold would probably have to be customized to fit but it looks like there might be enough room under the hood. If this could work out then the HP gain would be somewhere around 50 and torque may increase a bit more.

:!: It's really hard to do anything with a Daewoo, no aftermarket support. Not even in Europe or Asia. So I might just buy me a Supra and work on that. :!:

the manifold wouldn't even be close to fitting, would be better the make a custom manifold. Actully best would be a centerfugal S/C

Turbo

Post by Silver Daewoo »

Turbo sounds good. I think that I have made up my mind though and I will be looking to buy a 97 or 98 Supra Turbo. I'll keep my Daewoo though, cause I'm too attached but I will continue to work on it and I just might get a turbo kit for it. If the Lanos had more aftermarket parts, it could have become just another one of those imports. Although I am dissapointed, I still think that its great when you have a car that is different and where you have to know a lot about it, in order to make it better. There are really no bolt ons, mostly every upgrade is custom custom.

I've looked at a lot of websites and with some work and more money, I'll be able to get a car that will beat anything in the streets and on the track.

By the way. That Geo Metro thing has more aftermarket support and that car sucks. What tha F%$&.

Well said; I agree 100%.

I may be remembering wrong, but didn't someone mention a factory made Aveo supercharger for some special performance or race model in a thread in here a while ago?

I'm convinced. I am fully woven into the Daewoo fold. I took ONE step outside the house (bought a pocket rocket of a Suzuki Swift GTi back in January) and I have fully regretted it. I am disapointed by everything that isn't a Daewoo of some sort. I think it's because I understand them. They aren't perfect but they are good cars. Undoubtedly. One of these days we will be seeing the Daewoo logo back on the streets of the world. Just like Maybach (okay okay, that's pushing it, right?), Bugatti, and Lotus (for the Yanks really cause Lotus has always been around in Europe).
