Ok, so removing the resonator from my 2000 Leganza will make my intake sound louder?

I ran my Cielo withoput a resonator for a few months after I removed the turbo. Bogged down at around 2500rpm on full throttle. I have a 2.5" pipe all the way down so this further decreased the backpresure in the exhaust. Adding a resonator cleared that up and I'm back to driveability. My point: more isn't always good with exhausts. Some cars need a more backpressure than others. Fiddle around and see what happens. But at all costs NEVER throw that resonator away.

Ok well i took off the resonator and i don't feel or hear a difference, is it maybe because i already have a custom intake?

you mean you got a cone filter and metal pipe?? if that is the case then the resonator is alrerady not part of your intake and keeping or removing it won't make any difference.

only benefit from that is weight reduction... your car is now 1/2 Kgm lighter.

ive been using a pod filter just attached to the end of the rubber piping. thinking of going back to the panel filter but removing both resonators and blocking off the air coming over the radiator. thatd make my intake air nice and cold

or you can use a long metal pipe that goes from the TB to your wheel well and use the cone air filter and pop off the fog light cover.

Would taking out the intake resonator have any effect of gas mileage? I took the resonator out the other day and took out the y-tube with it... I have noticed i slight change in gas mileage but I'm not real sure on whether its the resonator's fault or my imagination...
