Time for new front brakes. have a few questions

Post by azazel19 »

pretty soon i'll need to change out my front brake pads and figured i'd upgrade the rotor as well. i'd like a nice set of slotted rotors or slotted and drilled. i found a nice reasonable set of brembo rotors also which is what i'm gonna go with if i can't find some performance rotors.

my main question is what size is my rotor. i haven't measured it i guess i could. i have a 2000 lanos hatchback with abs. and the vin thing with some parts confuses me also. i'm guessing those numbers are the last six of the vin. those numbers are 575481 i'm guessing the ebc greenstuffs on tire rack won't fit. any help is greately appreciated.

here are the two rotors i'm contemplating on.

i haven't seen any rotors that are just slotted. i probably will go with the brembo that price is great. just not sure about pads. any input is appreciated. the ebc's on tire rack won't fit vin isn't the same they have some satisfied pro's i think they might be good.

Go with Brembos from Tirerack and Bendix (or other similar pads) from Autozone. I have them and I am pleased with the set up. They are inexpensive and of high quality. I just did something stupid when I was installing them that made my brake quality poor, but I fixed it and it works like a dream.

Just don't be surprised because the Brembos will start to rust, especially in this Florida heat and humidity.
