Bought a new motorcycle today
With the increasing cost of fuel, I decided to buy a new motorcycle.
I have been looking at different bikes for the past few months and decided to just go ahead and get one.
So today I went to the bank, got out some money and got a new Suzuki GZ250.
It's got a 250cc engine which should get somewhere between 75 and 100 mpg dependong on how much I open the throttle. LOL
Because of my hour and a half drive each way to and from work every day, I have to fill my Lanos up with around $27 every 2 or 3 days.
The bike will cost around $9 every 3 or 4 days. That is going to be a HUGE savings.
I was able to buy the bike for $3421 cash, including tax, title, processing, freight, license plates and a helmet.
More pics will be posted tomorrow evening after I pick it up from the dealer.

What do you mean a street bike? You mean what I got is an off road bike or something? LOLAcingTeam wrote:Nice, should've gotten a street bike though
I wanted a very small engine for getting the best gas milage possible, yet still have enough power to drive at highway speeds.
Its not for racing or showing off or going fast, it is to commute to work and save money on gas.

250cc is still fast. Ive been wanting to get a bike for over a year now.. i have the money set aside and everything. Truth is i havnt even gotten my license yet though lol.. i was supposed to a month ago but couldnt.
I would have bought a bike along time ago but i have to be 18 (or with parents signature) to get insurence... Before the end of the year im just gonna buy a bike and tell my parents "you dont want me riding without insurence do ya?". I also plan on getting a suzuki, but a sports bike.. i plan on doing some ... well fun stuff with it!

Shaun, what about a bike with a side car?
They've been making side cars for as long as they have been making bikes! LOL
Here is a Russian bike I have always liked:

And I really like the idea of this one with a drive shaft to turn power the wheel on the side car, so you have a 2WD bike!

But, this is actually the bike I was thinking about buying before I ended up with the one I have now:

There is a dealer for these bikes about an hour from my house, so parts and service would not be hard to get.

250cc isnt fast compared to those bikes.. but its fast compared to alot of cars.

I don't know why but I like the Buell Firebolt XB12R
I love the look of most of the imports as well but when I saw a guy on one of these the other day I thought to myself "damn that's a good looking bike"
I've been thinking about getting a motorbike as well but our "motorbike" season is so short (6 months max) that I don't know if it's worth it.
Plus I have too many things insured as it is.... I'm insuring 3 vehicles, a boat, two trailers and five properties.
Sometimes I wish I lived in Montana so I could drive all over the place without insurance ( right WooHoo ? )
