They also make less money, so it's relevant to where you live... probably.

lanos 1.5 Manual SOHC im getting approx 6.6l per 100km on just straight highway driving and very little city. however i have yet to be able to get it to Empty it just seems to never want to put the empty light on. everytime i fill it and its almost hanging below empty it still has like 7l fuel in. so it be bloody close to 650+km per tank.

ive got a pretty big trip coming up next weekend and im tempted to give Premium unleaded ago, to see if that can be extended any further, any issues with pulp on the woo?

as per the users manual the fuel warning light will come on if you have 6 liters of fuel in the tank.

ex0du5, i use BP ultimate (98 RON) and its great in the woo... i have my timing advanced however... you notice the power and economy increase if you advance your timing.

and mmamdouh... when abouts does your fuel light some on??? ive had the guauge sitting on the red before, and the light never came on.

maybe your gauge needle is off... i had that before and the light didn't come on till my needle was sitting on its stopper, now it comes on when the needle reaches the red mark at the very bottom.

ta i gave it a go on a short trip this weekend, 240 km, filled her up when i got back 15l's, so about 6.25l Per 100km, which considering A) it was windy as f*ck this weekend, and i had the aircon on for half of the trip,so all in all it was pretty good.

however i didnt like the fact the fuel price dropped 10c between me filling up and getting back and topping up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DOH.

my woo is almost at 70'k , going to get the timing belt/water pump/maybee tensioners replaced, and timing done etc.

In my Chevy Optra 5, with a 2.0l, my average fuel economy is around 10.8L/100km. This is mostly short trips, with a couple of highway trips thrown in here and there.

dad used the car for the past week during the summer vacation... he managed to do 14.77L/100 kms  ... that man knows how to save fuel (but he don't know how to have fun  ).

**EDIT** just realized that i put that in a wrong way... the actual consumption was 7.1 liter per 100 Kms which is eqavlent to 14.77 kms per liter of fuel, that is with 5 persons aboard and their luggage.

ok guys, i was guna post up myself, but here is mine and my problem....

uk spec 1.6 1998 twin cam 16v 3 door manual.

currently doing a bit of town and motorway driving, and it costs ?32 to fill my tank up FULLY (uk current price is 95p per litre ???) and i get 150-175 miles to a full tank!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i do have a fair bit ov stereo, 3 12in subs, big box, and a large amp, and a bit of sound proofing, along with just a back box, and replacement k&n air filter. now, i was trying to get the most mpg, and if i dont ragg it, i get a max of 200 miles to a full tank....is this milleage correct? have i got a problem? i think thats seriously low...guys, please help. i might get it in at a local garage, to see if theres a problem with it, ie timing, ecu or whatever. can anyone point me in the direction. thanks, rez
