top speed?

over 120mph and you didn't get arrested????

I'm pretty sure if I was caught going that speed I would be arrested. Besides, the ticket is like $600 here plus 6 month suspension of your license.

I haven't ever been pulled over though.

I have an escort 8500plus. He didnt clock me.. just followed behind me. It was a motorcyle and he had his lights off.. i didnt see him at all and i looked. Im always lookin for cops.

Yeah i was lucky i wasnt arrested. It was wayyy past curphew to for me.. especialy my friend in the car. Actually im almost 100% positive the tickets only civil too.. which means i should be able to keep my license but im not sure how the civil court will work w/ a 120+ ticket considering its criminal at 86+. First ticket i ever got (and only) was criminal and our lawyer said id probabyl lose my license for a few years... i just ended up taking drivers school and got it off my record.

What was the speed limit?

Also, I'm sure you can argue that the clocking thing (following behind you) is horribly inaccurate and that you weren't going anywhere near that speed. Also, you can argue that it wasn't legal for the cop to have his lights off.

I'm sure there are loopholes around this.

I don't think they got him on radar. So yeah, a cop following behind going 120mph on a bike

with no lights on... gotta be illegal.

I'm sure that shit won't stand up in court. Radarless clocking stopped being used back in the '70s when Radar Guns came out. I haven't yet heard of anyone being pulled over for being paced by a cop in modern day. I'm sure if you tell the judge that he was going 120 mph with no lights, he'd reprimand him. It isn't worth the risk to other motorists just to pull over 1 speeder.

Regarding the radar detector in your head thing...

I'm quite good at it too, but given the option of extra protection, I'm going to take it. Even people with excellent perception to detail can't spot a cop hiding around a corner or in the bushes.

False, In certain areas Radarless techniques are still being used. Vascar (a timing method) and the Stopwatch... are still being used... and to be honest ... regardless the fact that cop followed you, i'd be happy your not arrested and just pay the fine and be over with it, you dispute it's only going to cause more problems. I know Vascar and Stopwatches are incredibly innaccurate, but, they're also still being used to uphold the law so... yea...

I was actually pulled over on a freeway about 4 months ago by a cop (she was actually hot lol), but she was following me on the freeway. I live in Southern California where almost all cops use the latest tech and tricks on getting speeders, but the old ways are still used.

As far as the motorcycle cop with no lights on, I know for sure this will not stand up in any California court as all cops must have there lights on and must be visable at all times.

i didn't mean that your EGR is bad... i only ment it was kicking in to do its normal job and that prevented you from going faster.

if the EGR is stuck open you will notice a jerky idling and loss of power and if it is stuck closed then you won't notice anything at all.

My 1.5L 8V Cielo (80hp) took me to 175km/h (110mph) and it was still climbing when I backed off. You should be able to do more than just 100mph (160km/h) with your 2.0 16V.

I have a 2.0 16V in my Nubira and my top speed is 205km/h, it is more than 160 km/h
