chatroom????

i was wondering if we should try to start a chatroom or just designate one like msn or something? anyone interested? i don't have a preferrence of which one to use or anything but i thought it would be cool so we can really first talk in "real time" second possibly cut down on re-posts from newbies and last.... well shit it would be cool.

anyone wanna try to get this together. i've never really been big on chatrooms so i don't know how to organize one.

Good idea. Sometimes I look down at the bottom of the index page here just to see who is currently online. It would be great if all those users could simultaneuosly talk to each other. We could work together faster to bring up new ideas or just see how everyones day was. Someone needs to start this up. What do all you Moderators think about this???

it is a great idea... much better than individual chats on MSN and yahoo messenger that i usualy use to talk to daewootech members.

I think it's called mIRC and it is used to download software kinda like p2p programs, except this one puts you on a quoue but speeds are way better. You can also chat on it as well, you can create on designated chatting area for a specific clan, group or whatever. It's pretty cool.

download mIRC from www.mirc.com then connect to any EFnet server and type /j DaeWoOTeCh

if u cant find the chat room, type /q _3thmany and i`ll try to help u while am online.

Honestly I don't think there's enough of us online at one time to support having a chat room. It would get pretty boring.

We have AIM or MSN or Yahoo IM that we can always do conferences with if a few of us need to chat.

I agree with Shaun, there isn't enough people on at the same time... that's why we have a forum in the first place!
But yes, mIRC is used to download things using torrets.

The only problem with a live chat is that the information being asked and answered isn't there for everyone to see..... where as it is documented for ever if it's put onthe forum.

If you PM someone on the forum it's just like a chat line.... as soon as you are PM'd it should pop up to let you know someone is talking to you.

Sometimes I get PM'd with questions and I answer them without anyone else knowing..... once in a while I will make a new post with the info I answered but it's pretty rare these days because I"m allways busy.

I personally prefer it if someone drops a post onto the form and then PM's me to ask me to answer a question.

I don't allways look at all the areas of the forum.... so if you want my "two cents" you might have to PM me.

Maybe you guys are right. But think about it like this, it could attract more users to be online just so we could all talk at once. I hope that everyone would still use the forum of course. If we were all in the chat room, having a live convo with each other and we came up with something brilliant, we could always save it and post it onto the forum.
