nitrous rpm switch
how does one go about making the nitrous not turn on until a certain rpm, im planning on a 100 wet shot, expertly tuned, as to not mess up my engine. i know every time i shift, it drops to 4500 rpm, so i could have it come on at 3000 or 3500 as to not strain the motor too hard,(well, now that i think about it, pumping 225 hp out of the 1.6, might be too much, how much max wet shot could i safely use?)

Well, you pretty much are the programmer of your own nitrous setup, so you can choose any RPM to push the button. There isn't (not that I am aware of) some computer that shoots the nitrous into the intake, you simply push the button when you want to.
The only prerequisite is that nitrous can only be initiated at WOT so as not to starve the engine of air and fill it with too much NOS.
Nitrous systems usually have an arming switch which turns the system on, and a nitrous button, which shoots the NOS.

If you go for a 100 shot i will say to go safe and use a progressive setup...
but if you're not going with the progressive go for 75 (a the max limit)
the progressive set up does not use the 100 shot from the begining, it starts with a X amount from X rpm/throttle position...
you should check all the mayor brands (NOS, ZEX, Nitrous works) for some more detailed info.
Bosian... thats old school nitrous... with my ecu i can set up so that's when the nitrous is on (can be activated via the ecu) it uses a new map with a different ignition timing and fuel delivery... but that's to play it wayyyyyy to safe. :P

You learn something new everyday. I was unaware that you can trigger nitrous at a certain RPM via your ECU.Efrain A. wrote:Bosian... thats old school nitrous... with my ecu i can set up so that's when the nitrous is on (can be activated via the ecu) it uses a new map with a different ignition timing and fuel delivery... but that's to play it wayyyyyy to safe. :P

I believe it's msd, but i think there's a control box that you can have it do certain things...
One kid had his turbo push 3 psi, until he hit 5k rpms so he wouldn't be ungas efficient.
But the old "Ejecto Seato" nos button is old school. still widely used. But any true racer is using the MSD control box that from "A" RPM to "B" RPM uses 50-100 shot, where as from "B" point to "C" point it may only use 10-25.
they mainly use them on drag setups because they are expensive and a bitch to tune but i have seen my friend do this in his civic. then again... he's still a shitty driver so... i have to drive his car at the track.
