Wicked! What flavor? I heard that the pine scented ones increase horsepower by 20% and make your car's interior and exhaust smell like a forest!daewooluvr wrote:Upgraded intercooled air freshener...

The top bolt that mounts the starter to the engine block is a threaded stud with a fixed bolt about 3/4 of the way up. The reason for this is so you can mount the starter then put a ring terminal for a ground wire on the remaining stud and put a nut on it.Audacityracing wrote:just for future refrence... what makes them so hard to get ahold of?

Then you should've have as good of a thread in for the starter and with all that torque right there from the starter you're gonna want all the stability you can get.Audacityracing wrote:can you not put the ring terminal around the bolt?
I've found out the hard way that rigging a starter is begging for disaster.

I cracked my last starter that way. I didn't notice any problems with it until I went to take it out to swap engines and noticed it was in two pieces where the bolt goes through.Audacityracing wrote:the whole reason i ask is that i used a longer bolt and slid the ring conenctor on that way way, then used loctite and a lock washer to snug it up. i haven't had any problems out of that setup yet...
you have me paranoid now
