i couldnt do it before the turbo.. i had to do it in the down pipe

After the turbo?

Remember when I said your reading of 900 was ok.... scratch that... without the EGT before the turbo you won't know the real temperature.

If you can get your hands on an infrared temperature measurement gun that goes up to 1100 you should be able to get a decent idea of the true exhaust temp.

You should then be able to get a rough idea about the difference in temperatures.

Realistilcly.... this measurement of temperature differencial should be done under load with boost ( on a dyno )

because mine is pre turbo and my temps read 800f at warmed up idle and reach 1300-1400 when your at partial cruise throttle and stays @1400 @ full throttle with boost, but this is a timing issue

i will install it before the turbo but i dont really have a spot to do it.. only like 1/2" before the trubo and its not a flat surface. the weather is nice so i havnt been in the mood to play with the car these past few days. when it snows i will take the header off the car and reinstall the EGT gauge

what header did you use for that setup?what honda motor?

Honda D15/D16 SOHC... came in the crx and older civics. stay away from the odd shaped port versions too... make sure it's a oval shaped one

if i were to order the header would it ba stock manifold then you would have to modify for turbo or do they sell the d15 d16 turbo header for the crx

they sell them... under 150 on ebay



come on dude... the very first post in this thread is about the header being from a honda that he bought.

made some changes.. moved the egt up and changed the direction the turbo sits.. i didnt like how i had to run the exhaust how it was the other way

my poor brand new turbo is all rusted!!! :(

had to change my adapter

that picture is what it did look like.. i checked how it fit and it was to clost to the oil filter outlet. so i had ot modify it some more..

turbo mounts topside now.. cleans everything up way better then having a low mounted turbo..

never took out the power steering but no AC.. ac is for girls!!! :roll:
