check www.gm-car-parts.com and see if you can get just one synchro, that wouldn't be too bad

sometimes thrd gear doesn't engage smoothly if the tranny fluid is a bit low... had that on Zikas's car so check the tranny fluid before you tare down your trannys guys.

I lived with screwed up syncros on my old Toyota Celica GTS for about a year and a half.... you get used to it very quickly.

All you need to do is double clutch as you go into that gear... you will never grind it again

So... in case some people don't know... here is how you double clutch.

1) Press down on the clutch pedal, pull it out of 2nd and shift to neutral
2) Take your foot off clutch pedal while still in neutral
3) Press down on the clutch pedal and quickly push it into 3rd gear

Basicly.... by double clutching your matching the gearset speeds.... which is the whole purpose of a syncro in the transmisson.

So.... it's up to you.... spend a bunch of money or double clutch going into 3rd gear.

Trust me.... it will feel like a huge pain in the ass at first but after a few weeks you won't even think about it twice.

And yes.... when you first learn to double clutch it slows you down quite a bit.... but after doing it for a few weeks you can shift almost as fast as you would if you were doing a regular shift.

To get used to it quicker.... double clutch in all the gear shifts.... I'm sure it will help you pick it up faster.

Just tell your wife not to shift at 6k rpm into 3rd gear, and you'll be fine :lmao:

Since that's the only time it grinds.
