no difference whatsoever... the hatch and sedan shares the same suspension.

i was never asked by the sales man if it was a sedan or a hatch... i don't think their is that much load difference between the two versions to require different shock ratings.

the only reason i would even suspesct that is that the weight distro on the car is about 10% difference between the two.
***i looked up the results in the parts manual and both repair manuals, as well as the parts listing... there are indeed two models of shock, one of which was for use in areas where law required a stiffer rate for the rear of the car. that's probably what it is

5 years update:
still got the KYB's on dad's car and they have covered some 65K Kms with them... i think they are now soft and might need replacement... although they are not giving dad any problems... maybe because i drive much aggressive than him i feel that they are softer now
also on my woo i got a set of Monroe shock absorbers... stiffer than KYB and gives more stability without sacrificing too much of the comfort factor

Which shocks would be best for the Leganza?
My front is getting very soft.

Re: After market shock absorbers
Sorry for all the questions, but only the front is getting soft, the rear is fine. Should I just replace the front as the rear seem fine? Would this also be a good time to replace springs all round?

Re: After market shock absorbers
i'd recommend replacing all four shock absorbers... if you replace the front only you will still have a difference in handling and grip between front and rear (in comparison to a car with 100% healthy suspension)
springs get tired over time... and that shows in ride height, if your car is significantly lower than other leganzas or if you bottom down too often then your springs are worn... other than that they are fine and no need for replacing them at this time
ride height is the distance between the center of the axel and the fender arc as illustrated in the diagram:
