Honda Prelude H22 Engine sawp into a Leganza??
My sister just wrecked her '01 Prelude SH (Sportshifter model) And shes giving me the engine, is it possible to drop it in my Leggy? Or is the Honda engine not compatible with korean cars?

Did you ever get to the point where you checked for clearance???Goldenboy wrote:It is not an easy job but it can be done. Before finding about the sunbird 2L turbo I was about to do the H22 swap.
Hmmm..... I had a really nice H23.... I really loved my Prelude even though it wasn't VTEC
The first thing you will need to do is check the engine bay dimensions between the SH and Lanos to see if the H22 will fit.
If it will fit you would need to do the following:
Remove all engine and transmission mounts from the Prelude and have a mechanic/fabricator weld these into the correct places on the Lanos (assuming that they don't interfere with any of the Lanos parts such as the steering column)
You would need to completely gut the Preludes electrical system and transplant it into the Lanos.
You would need to have custom axles designed to mate up to the Lanos's CV joints
You would need to remove the gear shifter and transplant it into the Lanos.
You would need a custom exhaust
And the list goes on....... and on..... and on
You are probably getting the picture..... is it possible? YES will it cost you as much as a used Prelude SH? PROBABLY
The engine is the cheapest part of the swap.... it's all the little details that end up costing the majority of the money.
I think the swap sounds absolutely awesome but unless you have deep pockets I'd stay away from it.

yeah
Thanks for the details but i went to a auto salon in San Jose and they said it will cost a lot more money than i though just to do it. And surprisingly they told me to sell the engine and buy the new Mitso Evo engine, beacause they say it will fit better in my car and the tranny is more alligned.Either that or custom build a turbo. Isnt the new mitso evo enigne like 270+ Horses?? Crazy... But im thinking about it....

Here is another one..... a Japanese Mazda FE3 motor..... very nice..... also capable of major horsepower.
The FE3 was not sold in north america under the Mazda name but someone mentioned that they sold the design to Kia and it can be found in one of their present day SUV's
I personally would stick to the JDM mazda engine.
There are also a couple of nice Toyota engines that might work.

Thats exactly what I would like to swap into a Lanos hatch! or course, it would be the Pulsar GTi-R AWD version pumping out around 400hp! Nissan SR20DET engine is one hell of am engine.Erfinder wrote:How about a Nissan SR20DET swap???
I love that engine..... great potential.....and it's 2.0L so it should be close to the right size for the engine bay (since the C20GET fits)
