Well... I don't have an air compressor or an airbrush or spraying system. So really my only option for painting it at the moment would be with a can. I have the codes for it... I just can't find anywhere online that allows me to look up/order spray paint with the color matching stuff... Unless you know of a really cheap way to get a system together for painting, I'll have to stick to cans (or pay some shop way too much money to have them paint it for me).
well for a shop to do it for something that small it wouldn't be too bad especially if you buy the paint. i'm guessing that even if you don't buy the paint a decent paint shop would only charge like $50 or so. if you buy the paint (single stage) probably only like $30. and to get like a pint of single stage is probably only like $20 and you still wouldn't use the whole thing.

Just a thought...
Paint sprayer: $25

I'm going to buy one of these and practice spraying automotive paint on some old body panels to see if it will be any good.
If it's not any good for car paint, then I can use it to paint the shed. LOL

You do realize that my scoop only cost me $48? So spending an extra $50 on it seems excessive for the paint... especially when I have plans to re-paint it a different color sometime in the future.lanos2001 wrote:well for a shop to do it for something that small it wouldn't be too bad especially if you buy the paint. i'm guessing that even if you don't buy the paint a decent paint shop would only charge like $50 or so. if you buy the paint (single stage) probably only like $30. and to get like a pint of single stage is probably only like $20 and you still wouldn't use the whole thing.

This paint job on the scoop only needs to last me about another year or two at most. After that it will be a really sexy pearl black with a ton of clear on it, just like the rest of the car.
