need help with two problems!

Hello all, I have two probs with my 1999 lanos and would appreciate anyone's help.

1) I hear a vague random rattling/vibration somewhere behind dashboard (I think!) when the car is still cold for example when I start the car after a night in the garage. The noise can also be heard if the car is on but halted. After a day in the sun or driving for a long distance, the noise doesn't occur again.

2) Whenever I'm driving and reach 80km/h, the steering wheel starts vibrating, sometimes really bad.

Any suggestions on what might be the cause of the irrittating problems and what I might have to do to solve them? Thanks alot

1) could be a loose heat sheild for the catalytic convertor
2) wheel balance or alignment or warped rotors or... this could be a number of things.
