Finally got a cone filter ***installed***

Post by MMamdouh »

finally i got myself one of them cone filters to try a CAI setup on my car, the filter is a cheap Chinees product but it seems decent enough for me to buy it.

i haven't installed it yet on the car but that will be soon - hopefully - and i am thinking of making use of that front end port for a ram pipe from the fog light hole in the bumper.

you all know this is my dads car and i am messing arround with it without him knowing so i got to hide that filter somehow... i am thinking of using a PVC pipe from the bottom of the OEM air box to the cone filter so that the whole cone filter setup is in the wheel well... someone might ask "what about the filter element in the air box?? well.. i have made an adaptor to replace the OEM filter element yet keeps the air box air tight... it is practically a filter element with the filte material stripped off.

will post more when the installation is complete.

Thats a very good idea, you'd never know ;)

Filter looks of good quality regardless of where its made!

Let us know how it goes once you install it!

id try to run the pvc through the air box, that bug thing with the air getting sucke throufh it would practally be another resonator on the intake. i dont remember who but some one on here has a turbe abt it looks like he has the stock airbox in there, but the piping just runs through the box, but yeha i think i havd that same filter on my old ghetto cai, they work pretty good. post pics when you finish.

At the throttle body it is a bit over 2.25" OD (its thin wall stainless so ID would be 2.25" but OD is just less than 2.5"...)

oh i got you :D

i am more inclined to doing a 1.6 DOHC swap rather than turbo the 1.5... it is a much straight forward job and it will cost much less, not to mention the hussle of fine tuning the turbo in this country.
