Brakes and Outter Tie Rod ends
Hey, Im from Canada and went to Canadian Tire to see about a quote for my brakes. They said that I needed to new front braje bads and rotors. they said it would cost 310 dollars plus tax. Does this seem right. They said that since it was a woo the price was so much more. They also said that I needed new Tir rod ends and an alignment and that it would cost 325. I dont think this includes labour becuase in the end it was going to cost me 850. Does this not seem extremly high. Any suggestions on a cheaper method.
Thanks, ps woos are bomb

www.autobarn.com for the brembo rotars for like $50 shipped (aont qoute me on that price) and autozone for pads $20 lifetime warranty, not the best but they work. and i heard the tie rods from a 87 - 92 pontiac lemans are the same. all the pars shouldnt cost you more than $200 at VERY MOST. their instals should be easy enough to do your self. and the alignment shouldnt be more than $50 at most. good luck keep us posted
p.s. those prices are for a lanos... the leganza or nubi shouldnt be too much more than that

you can get rotors for $65 US shipped (shipped to canada). pads for about the same (performance pads at that). the tie rod ends can be found at www.gm-car-parts.com and i'd say they are cheap. chris@precisionboost may have a canadian supplier of oem parts for you
Oh... and don't go back to whatever mechanic you visited. With prices like that, they're obviously trying to rob you.
I have a friend who's mechanic actually did something wrong to her engine on purpose so she would be back in to get that fixed. Be wary and take your time finding a mechanic you trust (if you don't plan on doing the work yourself).

yes, but I need to know what the size of the rotor was, and need to know how to find that. I bought it in canada, if that means anything. but it still asks for 2 different sizes
