Where can I find a 2L Nubira engine?

Post by Red Bull »

G'day Daewoo Fans

I live in Australia, and I having trouble finding a Nubira Engine or Leganza.
I just finish building my 200SX S15 silvia, and now working on my everyday car since I was in back University.

Over the years I have manage to purches most of the HVE performance parts, (camshaft, bigger throttle bodies, high compression head......)

But that only so far protect me against tried hard Civic and rice car Lancer, im still getting rape by the typical aussie V6 the Commondore.

It funny how they alway pick on me when im in the lanos, but never when im in my Silvia.

Anyway if anyone can help out that would be buddy great mate.
Cheers

Hey Red Bull. Instead of the Nubira engine (directly) I think you would be better off looking for a Holden Astra GTE or similar and transplanting that engine. The Nubira's engine gave one of our net buddies US$4000 worth of trouble to fit! One of our newest members Nexiaaarghhh has done the swap using the Vauxhall version and says it's pretty straight fwd. I myself was planning on doing the swap but I have now decided (for the most part) that it would cost too much money to have done. It's currently cheaper to continue with my turbo plan. Stay tuned for details. I may have a problem with documentation though. The car will be some 200kms away doing the installation so I will just have to keep my fingers crossed, and basicall do without the pics, etc.

Hey thanks you guys, with your replies... and your wishes with my project.

Im still looking for an engine in OZ....and now i think it is impossible to do it.
It is hard enough to find one, but the harder thing is to find some qualified person to fitted it in for me....
I've been around to many places, and they just laugh at my face and think im bullshitting them around... NO-ONE want to take on the project.

Bloody Hell... I got so piss off and bring my S15 Silvia to them the next day and show of my gadget... just to show them im dead serious.

The guys I hate most are: Race Torque in OSBORNPARK WA
so anyone live in Perth dont support them they are idiots.

Hey Red Bull! I get laughed at all the time for my project. The guys at Muffler Specialists were really sporty about it and took it on with gusto. Whiloe going through the project I got so many different responses. Some laughed, some praised. My advice to you tho bro, is don't give up. It doesn't have to be a shop that is some guru on things Holden or whatever. What you need is a mechanic with tools and who is willing to follow your instructions. A lot of good mechanics are assholes to be honest and few are willing to take advice from mere mortals LOL My car is now fully turbocharged and running like a dream for the most part (still need to sort out the intercooler as it's not being cooled properly) But go for it dude. Go out and give props to a shop that is deserving of it. Two of the blown Daewoos in the world right now are in Australia. The only other 1.5 sohc turbo Cielo (mine being the other) and the ONLY supercharged Lanos. So go out and do your thing!

No need for mechanics

Post by Red Bull »

Hey guys, me and my mate will do the swap our-self, no need for dum ass mechanic. We look at the two engine bay (lanos vs nubira) and i think we can take on this job.

But im now looking for a decent half cut nubira 2L.
I dont have the cash now anyway...spent it all on the Silvia S15.
So we are just planning the project out right now.

Hopefully when it finish it can beat the Howler supercharge lanos.

So if any of you guys know about the swap, please give me so info of the task ahead. I think we can do it !!!!!!!!!
