maybe (not sure) you can use the nubira or leganza brake system. Why, because you can use the front disk of the nubira in a lanos and use the leganza disk in a nubira. So I think you just have to buy al the real disk system.

Wolf-Spirit, I think you can fit the Astra/Kadett or Vectra rear discs onto the rear beam of the Lanos. Would be worth taking a look if you want to upgrade yours. You would need the handbrake cables and bias valves also.

I actually got my rear disc axle today, as a swap for the Lemans (Lanos is based on it, or rather on Opel Kadett E/Vauxhall Astra Mk2). So there will be a write-up here in a little bit.

You can actually unbolt your hubs and install discs. See the sticky Brake Upgrade post.

ok, here's a better question, does anyone know of any performance rear disk brake pads & rotors that'll fit?

Since roughly 80% of the braking happens at the front, if you increase the grip at the back without doing something similar on the front discs, you will experience premature rear wheel lock. This not only will decrease the efficiency of braking, but can be potentially dangerous if this happen while cornering fast.

Ferodo makes high-perf, hi-friction rear pads, and I believe that Black Diamond carries rear rotors.

yes I realize this. I have EBC Green Stuff front pads and Centric drilled slotted rotors up front, I want to finish off the brake system with a rear disk swap and some nice pads and rotors. :)

I am going to leave the rear calipers unpainted for now, as they will be replaced. So will the rotors.

Be sure to let us know what good replacements are out there for the rear discs and calipers.

Tom, I had a good snout around a Saab 93 today, though the rear discs are slightly larger (a upgrade maybe?) the calipers are the same as the Vectra's. The 95 uses the same setup too.
