2 questions/concern of the 2004 suzuki forenza?

Post by bsharon »

Hi all,

1st
how can I make my 2.0l rev up faster, and down rev faster too. ? Cams?
Is there any on the market now that won't F my engine up? lol

2nd
Where do I attatch new grounds to make my ground better in my car?
Like a ground kit.
Well I have the wire, some 0 gadge..
Just don't know if I am surposed to remove the old ons and just put the new ones in their place.
Help me out to know where to rout them. please :D

3rd
any one still getting that reving problem where the engine hangs and or revs on its own.?
I still get it every now and then.
Just when I thought it was gone.. lol
well the dealer seems to think nothing is wrong, because it doesn't show error codes, and it hasn't done it at the shop yet.
So they ran 2 new programs through my ECU and I still get that darn problem.
How about you?

Thanks for the help all

first off that was 3 questions, lol jk

1. to make it rev quicker you need to lessen rotational mass. so a lighter flywheel, underdrive pully, ligher axles and rotars would be a great start.

2. you can leave the origional grounds and ad new ones. or take em off if you want. it wont hurt either way. the 0 guage wire is big but it will work just fine.

3. i dont have a forenza but ive heard of quite a few other people that have the same thing going on, it might just be a thing that happens in them. yeah i know it sucks but what can you do....

With intake, exhaust, and UD pulley the problem with reving is pretty much gone. But you say it revs on its own? Do you just mean it takes ALONG time to drop and rev? or it does it on its own?

A flywheel also helps alot.. but if you arnt going for alot of performance or arnt installing it yourself its not cheap. The flywheel is like $100 or so but labor is around 8.5hours.

I can get you a lighter flywheel and/or the UD pulley pulley.

Yes I have the revving problem now and then too, along with other people. I don't know what to do about it as the dealer says it can't look into the problem unless it happens there. It doesnt happen all the time, but when it does the engine will rev up from idle by itself (with no throttle applied) to sometimes as high as 3K rpm. Seems to be pretty random, but happens more when its hot outside.

Ohh... you know what. I think I had that too. I seam to remember having that weird issue and being looked at at red lights cuz I had a loud exhaust. But I dont have it anymore... not sure if the pulley/exhuast/flywheel helped that or not though.

The only time I really had that revving problem was the day after I would drive up to N.C. to see my folks. I would start it that morning and it would hold revs at about 2-3k for like 10 minutes. Other than when I went up there (Which is a 5 1/2 hour drive) I've never really had that problem to that extent.

ok just one more question! ;o)

lol

1st my car hangs on its own and is slow to rev down and revs up on it's own too. lol
but not all the time, just when it's hot and or muggy outside. in the cold nights that thing is like a rocket. lol
maybe it is tuned for Korea. lol

so if I get a underdrive pully that might help .. any one know where I can get one. or is that a dumb ? seing how it is a common part. lol

any one do an flywheel install them selves. lol
how much is involved, and where the heck do you start. lol
(just wondering basics don't go all crazy and try and explain the whole thing)

I am very interested in buying

Front Sway bar.
lighter weight flywheel
Stronger clutch/pressure plate (where can I get this)

need Ideas for dual exhaust, just want it to be kinda simple like my friends SRT4...

o yeah guys..

I almost bought this spoiler on ebay.
it looked like an evo one just had the middle cut to shorten it...
is that true.??
anyone here anything about that or see any one do it?
I think the Forenza / Optra / Lacetti would looking really great with a nice evo style wing....

thanks

o yeah and I already have the CAI installed that I bought off of 360 right before they shut down.
It did help a bit with the revs being faster. so I was happy, but not completely. needs to be quiker. lol
so help me out as much as you can on this

it is not a good idea to do a mod to overcome a problem... fix the car first then think of mods.
