Mixing regular and synthetic engine oil

Post by MMamdouh »

is it ok to mix syntheric engine oil with regular engine oil??

i found out i was low on oil level yesterday and i am a couple of hundred kms to oil change so i didn't want to spend a load of money on Mobil 1 that i am going to drain at the weekend so i bought 1 liter of Mobil XHP to refill.

is that mixture OK or will it hurt my engine??

+1

I think the only time you run into problems is when you blend different brands (eg: shell & mobil) as they make the oils compatible with one another just in case this happens.
