Re: tacho
1.6L DOHC normally has ECU under the drivers seat. The 1.5L SOHC has the ECU in the front footwell...
Thats why fitting a tach to the 1.6 is a no brainer since it has a dedicated tach output...
The gauges look good! I like Speco too and those new 2inch ones you have look pretty!
You need some plastic loom bad though for the tach wires! http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=HP1224

Is this a 1.3/1.5 or 1.6 though?
If it's a 1.6 it won't help us Chris

i am totally confused now...
first off the instructions on the .net is for a 1.6 DOHC with OBDII managment, thats why they have an ECU with 3 main sockets and a full signal wire.
as far as i know in Australia all lanoses got 1.5 SOHC with OBDI and those ECU's got only 2 sockets just like mine... older lanoses got ECU under passenger side seat and newer ones got them in the kick panel in here... maybe all the right hand drive cars got it in the kick panel.
now john's car is an Australian 1.5 SOHC lanos that got an ECU with 3 sockets and located under the driver seat and the 1.6 DOHC lanos tach instructions fitted it like a glove... can the 1.5 tach issue be more confusing??????????????????????????

i faced this on the nubira... i think you need to tilt the ECU to the left a little bit then pull it out.

try to see if the metal bracket can be removed by removing a screw or something... i recall it was not that difficult on the nubi or maybe they make them tighter on the lanos.
