Where are you located???

Given you said SOHC I'm assuming that you have the 1.5L SOHC right?

Need more specifics..... such as how much power your looking to make.

Well I guess that makes us neighbors sort of ... cuz I live in Ice cold Edmonton... which gets worse weather than you guys most of the time.

You must have the DOHC 1.6L (A16DMS) since that was the only engine offered in the USA.... the SOHC 1.6L was only available in Korea ( A16SMS)

Canada had the DOHC 1.6L (A16DMS) as well as the SOHC 1.5L ( A15SMS ) engines. ( I own one of each )

I don't see why it wouldn't be possible to get a system together for $2k to $3K USD.

What's your timeframe?

A turbo system needs to be tuned on a dyno.... so the ideal situation would be for you to drive down to Edmonton in the spring/summer.

It's a two day drive at the best of times.... in total it should be a 24 to 30 hour trip depending on how fast you drive.

First off lets look at that turbo..... hmmm.... seems fairly close to the Garrett GT2560R... not exactly the same but I will use this compressor map ( unless you have a compressor map for your turbo )

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobyga ... 6541_4.htm

Ok... at 6psi and 6000RPM the engine should make about 143 hp with a flow rate of 13.2lbs per minute

So your pressure ratio is 1.41

Let's go to that Garrett map.... 1.41 pressure ratio on the left side with 13.2lbs per min on the bottom puts you at the bottom corner of the most efficent part of the map. (which is good )

So that means the turbo your looking at should work just fine... it might be just a bit on the large size.... but if you get the "BOOST BUG" and want more it will leave you with options of 15+PSI

Only thing i'd do in addition is wire in an ECU for proper fuel and ignition control. The How-To system went fine, but with good tuning there is more potential for better results and better engine life too i'd say...
